What is Bungee Shock Cord?

A shock cord (commonly referred to as bungee cord) is an elastic cord composed of one or more elastic strands forming a core, usually covered in a woven cotton or polypropylene sheath. The rope’s sheath is braided with strands spiraling around the core where a longitudinal pull causes a tightened core to transmit its elastic compression to the longitudinal extension of the sheath and cord.
