About Notch Equipment

Notch Equipment high-performance products allow arborists to work safely and efficiently, whether on a job site or in the canopy. Notch is dedicated to helping customers succeed in their professional and recreational climbing activities. They use a rigorous R&D process based on real-world testing by professional arborists with a combined experience of over 350 years in the tree care industry.

At RopeHub, we’re proud to carry several tested-and-trusted Notch climbing gear products, including portawraps, throwlines, and other climbing-crucial accessories.

Portawraps

Notch tree gear, including Portawraps, are compact rope friction devices designed by Notch arborist Scott Prophett in the 1990s. They're reliable tools for safely and efficiently lowering heavy loads during rigging operations.

Throwlines

Notch makes many types of throwlines, including the Acculine series. This Arborist Rope is made of Dyneema®, a polyethylene fiber known for its strength, lightweight and low-stretch properties. They’re also coated with urethane to increase abrasion resistance, and designed with bright colors for high visibility. The fibers comprising Acculines may have a diameter of 1.75 mm or 2.2 mm, with lengths of 180 feet and 1,000 feet.

Notch Climbing Gear Accessories

In addition to Portawraps and throwlines, you’ll find essential Notch tree gear accessories like tinted safety glasses, throw weights, caution signs, PPE, wedges, and high visibility work gloves, and more.
